Almost a year after our last Mali edition, OkayAfrica Electrafrique, in collaboration with Carrefour Créatif, made a big return to Bamako for a night of life-giving beats.

Fali Fatô, a favorite watering hole for the city's music lovers filled to the brim to witness our man DJ Cortega and Babinotes' Black Charles from Côte d'Ivoire synch up their electronic beats to the live traditional Malian percussion of Djeli Madou's trio Doucoura.

A blend of ancestral and futuristic music breathed fresh vibes into the night of the Malian capital, a vibrant city whose nightlife has suffered from an enduring security crisis.
