Joey Le Soldat, one half of Burkinabe hip-hop innovators Waga 3000, has dropped another track from his forthcoming sophomore effort Burkin Bâ. "L'hivernage" is a melancholy slow burner led by a testament to the rainy season and nature's fertility. It's a move away from the big bass of lead single "D.M.D," and a welcome insight into Le Soldat's eclectic sound. On his latest, rousing female vocals fade in and out as a backbone along with production from DJ Form, which together create a delicate atmosphere, skilfully balanced out by Le Soldat's melodic yet gritty wordplay.
