The trailer for Khanyi Mbau's new thriller film Red Room has been released and it appears it will make for a satisfyingly suspense-filled experience.

Khanyi Mbau is a South African television host and actress who has starred in films such as Happiness is a Four-Letter Word and Frank and Fearless. In Red Room we see a darker side to Mbau's abilities as she plays the character of Zama Marawa, wife to a wealthy husband who loses it all, who is thrown into the frightening South African underworld of human trafficking.

Describing the character she plays, Mbau said:

"I am a woman who was once rich but it all came tumbling down and I found myself without anything. I had to start from the bottom again, doing Mzansi Magic movies, and I realised that pride cannot take you anywhere."
