British-Namibian Filmmaker Perivi John Katjavivi's Icarus Is A Namibian Re-Telling Of The Greek Myth
Cape Town-based British-Namibian filmmaker Perivi John Katjavivi has turned to the power of the Internet to finance his first feature debut Icarus. Set in an unnamed village in Namibia, Icarus is a contemporary re-telling of the ancient Greek myth that follows a man named Dantago, described as "a head in the clouds pilot in training," who has been fascinated by the wonders of flight since boyhood and hopes to one day make his own aerial voyage. After moving away from home to attend flight school in the city, Dantago falls in with a cast of shady characters for a heist that might put his dreams in jeopardy. Watch the pair of moody dreamlike trailers featuring two of the film's leads below.
