Costa Titch Releases 2 ‘New Wave Remixes’ for his Viral Hit ‘Nkalakatha’

Costa Titch enlists PatrickxxLee, Indigo Stella, Champagne69 and others in two new remixes for 'Nkalakatha.'

The hype around Costa Tich's hit single "Nkalakatha" is not dying down anytime soon. After releasing a remix featuring South African hip-hop royalty in December 2019, the rapper recently shared two new remixes to the song.

Attributed as "New Wave Remixes," each song features the some of the country's hottest young rappers from the "new wave" generation, which is currently on the rise. PatricKxxLee, Gator and Papa Stash appear on one, while the Champagne69 duo shares the beat with Indigo Stella. Both songs are a display of the diversity in the country's rap scene.

Posse cuts are a rarity in modern rap. Even though the new wave has strong lyricists, sparring on songs hasn't been a practice that seemed important to them. But with songs like Costa Titch's "Nkalakatha New Wave Remixes," there's a lot we are still to learn about the new crop of rappers.

"Nkalakatha" went viral last year. It attracted superstars Riky and AKA who jumped on the song's remix, giving the song and the rapper from Mpumalanga further traction and officially announcing his arrival.
