PDot O Releases His Third Album ‘Cold Waters’

Listen to PDot O's new album 'Cold Waters.'

PDot O recently shared a new album which he hadn't announced prior. The project, which is titled Cold Waters, is trademark-PDot O as the Pretoria-based MC wears his heart on his sleeve as he raps about the challenges he faces as a nonconformist, backstabbing friends and he doesn't shy away from reminding you he's one of the greatest to ever pick up a mic in South Africa and beyond.

He raps on the album's intro:

"Same soldier, I stand for mine/ I'm torn apart but I pretend I'm fine, ooh/ Mere reflection in the mirror, kinda scare me now/ I see a beast with a crown, but he alone at times/ Put it into, spoken rhymes, so you can quote the line"

Just like the emcee's two previous albums, Cold Waters comes with plenty of featured artists that each add their contribution, but his presence is felt throughout the 17 songs on the project. The guestlist is diverse; it features rappers and singers from different walks of life—Big Zulu , Zubz, Kid X, Sky Nomonde, Fuego Phoenix, Jay Claude and Ras are some of the many artists featured on Cold Waters.

PDot O fans are already flooding the emcee's mentions, thanking him for always giving them his reality which is relatable to many of his listeners. Lyrically, Cold Waters won't alienate fans, as the emcee poignantly speaks on the issues affecting him currently. Stylistically, however, the album comes with a few surprises—songs like "Long Way" and "Kingdom Come" see the rapper adopting the current style of rapping—flow-based with autotuned hooks. They make the project accessible to a younger audience and reveal PDot as a student of the game.
