Petite Noir Heads To Lubumbashi, DRC In The Music Video For 'Down'

Petite Noir paints a portrait of his Congolese background in the Lubumbashi-shot video for "Down," the first single off his upcoming LP.

South African-based 'noir wave' producer Yannick Illunga aka Petite Noirtravels to the Democratic Republic of Congo in the visuals for "Down," the first single off his upcoming albumLa Vie Est Belle / Life Is Beautiful on Domino Records (the follow-up to last year's The King Of Anxiety EP). The new music video follows Yannick and his girlfriend Rochelle Nembhard around the streets of Lubumbashi as they ride motorcycles, hang with street basketballers and meet people across the city. The video "blends unrehearsed imagery and joyful sounds to paint a contemporary portrait of Petite Noir's Congolese background and his hopes for the country's future," the label tells us. For more from Petite Noir revisit his recent singles "The Fall,""Shadows," and the Yasiin Bey-featuring "Till We Ghosts."
