Since Okayafrica's inception BOYZNBUCKS rapper/producer Okmalumkoolkat has featured on a steady stream of our "greatest hits," like LV's cyberspace ballad "Spitting Cobra" and "Gusheshe" with Maftown king Cassper Nyovest. Though he's stepped into his own spotlight this year with the release of his debut solo effort Holy Oxygen I via Austria's Affine Records, the Future Mfana mastermind has nonetheless managed to hit us with a wealth of collaborations in recent months, including tracks with Jumping Back Slash, JR, Riky Rick, and most recently Digital Maskandi's trap lord newcomer Mashayabhuqe KaMamba.

On perhaps his most surprising guest spot thus far, Okmalumkoolkat's teamed with a fellow Durbanite on the polar opposite end of the electronic spectrum, iconic South African dance music label Soul Candi's newest artist Tellaman. Their collaboration, "Drinks & Music," shoots Okmalumkoolkat's nonlinear wordgame off to unfamiliar deep house territory. The track is Tellaman's first to be released through his new label home, and will feature on his debut album as a part of the 5-disc flagship collection album Soul Candi Sessions 2015 (which also features discs from DJs/producers Lulo Cafe, Harael, Cuebur and Mo Flava). Okmalumkoolkat had previously linked with Soul Candi's Allan Nicoll aka Kid Fonque. Nicoll set this latest exchange in motion, in which Tellaman and Okmalumkoolkat recorded their parts separately without ever meeting in person.
