Ladipoe's New Music Video for 'Jaiye' Will Make Your Day
The Nigerian rapper shows the vibrancy of Lagos through his point of view.
Nigeria's own Ladipoe—the first rapper to be signed to Mavin Records—recently dropped the music video for his latest single, "Jaiye."
Directed by Seun Opabisi and Kewa Oni, the rapper takes us through the hustle and bustle that makes Lagos so vibrant. "Ladipoe sings and raps about enjoying the journey he's currently on, instead of worrying about the destination," Konbini explains.
The beautifully-shot clip shows the vastness of the city through sharp drone shots and the creativity of Nigerian youth—especially through the styling by Stephen Tayo and Bubu Ogisi, the bomb dancers, drag racers, bmx bikers, soccer players, boxers and more. Yellow is the stand-out color as Ladipoe rides through the electric city in a decked out danfo.
This melodic song and accompanying video remind us that it's indeed the time of our lives and to enjoy the journey.
