Beyoncé's seminal album, Lemonade, turned a year old on April 23 and to mark the occasion, Queen Bey is helping encourage the next generation of girls who will run the world, with the launch of a new scholarship program for women in the arts.
Four "Formation Scholarships" will be available to women pursuing degrees in creative arts, literature, music and African-American studies, beginning in the 2017-2018 school year. The women will be chosen from four participating schools are Berklee College of Music, Howard University, Parsons School of Design, and Spelman College.
According to a statement on Bey's website, the program is designed to “encourage and support young women who are unafraid to think outside the box and are bold, creative, conscious and confident.”
