Ms. Lauryn Hill is Bringing Nas With Her to South Africa in 2019

Ms. Hill just announced the date for a Joburg concert.

Ms. Lauryn Hill will hit Joburg, South Africa, at the TicketPro Dome on the 2nd of February in 2019. The concert is part of her ongoing world tour to celebrate the 20th anniversary of her classic album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.


Nas is joining Ms. Hill on the date. So, this will be a treat for golden-era hip-hop fans.


Apart from celebrating her 1998 classic album, Ms. Hill will donate a portion of the ticket sales to the MLH Fund, which contributes support for education, health, education, technology and community-based business developments.

Ms. Hill has been to South Africa, a couple of times before. We are all crossing our fingers she shows up.

Dying Lagoons Reveal Mexico’s Environmental Racism

In the heart of a traditionally Black and Indigenous use area in Southwest Mexico, decades of environmental destruction now threatens the existence of these communities.

On an early morning in September 2017, in a little fishing village in the Pacific coast of Oaxaca, called Zapotalito, thousands of dead fish floated on the surface of the Chacahua-Pastoría lagoons. A 7.1-magnitude earthquake, which rattled Mexico City on September 19, was felt as far down as Zapotalito, and the very next morning, its Black, Indigenous and poor Mestizo residents, who depend on the area's handful of lagoons for food and commerce, woke up to an awful smell and that terrible scene of floating fish.
