<p>A couple weeks ago we hinted at past <em><a href="http://www.okayafrica.com/2011/07/17/the-okayafrica-mixtape-series-africa-in-your-earbuds-1/" target="_blank">Africa In Your Earbuds</a></em> contributor <strong>Chief Boima</strong>'s <a href="http://www.okayafrica.com/2011/10/07/audio-chief-boimas-liberian-lone-stars-mix/" target="_blank">mixtape teaser</a> for <em>Lone Stars Vol. 1: Hipco & Gbema —</em> a compilation, and the first international release, of current Liberian sounds. As Boima explains: "Hipco is hip-hop sung in colloquial Liberian-street English. Gbema is a generic term given to electronically-produced traditional music."
