18 African Players to Watch at the 2017 NCAA March Madness Tournament

Here's a list of African players competing at the 2017 NCAA basketball tournament.

Every March, basketball enthusiasts make their bracket predictions for the National Collegiate Athletic Association's (NCAA) March Madness Tournament. The men's and women's tournament occur simultaneously until the beginning of April and include 68 and 64 teams, respectively.

There's a number of African players competing in both divisions this year. The majority of them hail from Nigeria, but players from Zimbabwe, Mali, DRC and more are also set to compete during this year's games.

NCAA Men's Division

1. Sean Obiwas born in Kaduna, Nigeria and is a forward for Duke University.

2. Udoka Azubuikehails from Delta, Nigeria. He's a center for University of Kansas.

3. Edrice Adebayo aka Bam, was born in Newark, New Jersey to immigrant parents. He's the power forward for the Kentucky Wildcats.

4. Ikenna Okwarabizie is the Lagos-born center for UCLA.

5. Ike Anigbogu is a Nigerian-American forward and center who plays for UCLA.

6. Michael Ojo is Florida State's 7'1" center. He was born in Lagos.

7. Nuni Omot was born in Nairobi, Kenya and is a forward at Baylor University

8. Semi Ojeleye's family is from Nigeria, he's a forward for Southern Methodist University.

9. Ray Kasongo is a Congolese-Canadian power forward at Iowa State.

10. Sagaba Konate hails from Bamako, Mali. He's a forward for the West Virginia Mountaineers.

11. Mamadi Diakite was born in Conakry, Guinea and is a forward at University of Virginia.

NCAA Women's Division

1. Arike Ogunbowaleis a Nigerian guard who plays for Notre Dame's top-ranking women's basketball team.

2. Chinwe Okorie was born in Lagos and is currently a center for Mississippi State.

3.Oderah Chidom is a Nigerian-American forward who plays for Duke.

  4. Stephanie Mavunga was born in Harare, Zimbabwe and plays as a forward for Ohio State.

  5. Born in Ondo State, Nigeria, Olamide Aborowa, is a forward for University of Texas.

 6. Evelyn Akhator is from Lagos Nigeria. She's a forward for the University of Kentucky.

7. Ogechi Anyagaligbo is a Nigerian forward who also plays for the University of Kentucky.
