South African Singer Zahara’s Fourth Album Goes Gold within Hours of Release

Nothing new here.

South African Zahara's latest album Mgodi was released on Friday, and reportedly went gold in less than a day.

According TimesLIVE, Warner Music South Africa's marketing director Adrian King confirmed the album sold over 16,700 physical copies and hundreds of digital copies within the first 24 hours of its release.

Gold status in South Africa is 15,000 copies.

Zahara's albums have been selling like hot cakes since she first came out with her 2011 smash hit "Loliwe," which was also the name of her debut album.

Loliwe sold 350,000 within four months of release, and her subsequent releases have been selling impressively.

For instance, her third album Country Girl also went gold within 24 hours of release.
