Audio: Dur Dur Band's 1980s Somali Pop [Download]

As we previously posted, Awesome Tapes From Africa is prepping a cassette-sourced reissue of Volume 5 — a 1987 recording made by the Somalia's Dur Dur Band. The tape was originally released during the group’s peak in popularity in the thriving Mogadishu scene that preceded the Somalian civil war in 1991. The reissue release has been pushed back to March 19 due to pressing plant issues but, while you wait, the label has given away another gem off the tape.
