From Manu Dibango to Richard Bona and Andy Allo, Cameroon has its fair share of international music stars. But like some other African nations, the country has struggled to export its more urban artists. Paradoxical? It might be, even more so with the increasing number of talented singers, rappers and performers on the ground. But things are slowly evolving. With the increasing exposure of technology, and the current success of "afrobeats" among other things, the landscape is changing. In the midst of an ever-present external influence from French, American and Nigerian acts, Cameroonian urban artists are shaping their own sounds.
