Fun Places in Accra, Ghana to Visit This Weekend

From Musa Keys & Blaqbonez at Play to Saxofoam Brunch at Polo Beach Club, there’s no shortage of fun spots to explore in Accra.

Year after year, the capital city of Ghana maintains its status as a hotspot for the best events, tourism, nightlife, and just fun in general! There’s no shortage of places to explore and activities to do, and the upcoming weekend is packed. This weekend’s agenda involves live performances by Amapiano star Musa Keys and Nigerian rapper Blaqbonez, an action-packed basketball tournament, exploring a revived historical monument, and much more. As we usually do, we’ve curated a list of places to explore in Accra, Ghana, to help you plan a weekend full of excitement.

Musa Keys & Blaqbonez Live in Accra

Musa Keys is a South African DJ, songwriter, music producer and a renowned Amapiano artist, responsible for several hit Amapiano songs as well as his feature on Nigerian singer Davido’s hit song “Unavailable.” Blaqbonez is a Nigerian rapper signed to Chocolate City, popularly known for his distinct rap style as well as his creative ingenuity. The duo will be present at Play Ghana this Wednesday to deliver live performances, so if you’re a fan of either artist (or both) and you’re in Accra, you can’t miss it!

Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park

Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park and Mausoleum has been closed to the public for some time due to renovations. The Ghanaian monument just had its official reopening, and is now welcoming tourists and the general public. The Mausoleum is a magnificent marble monument and the last resting place of the first President of Ghana, Kwame Nkrumah, and his wife, Fathia Nkrumah, and its redevelopment has brought new life to the iconic historical monument.

Night Jam & Karaoke at Tchetche

Tchetche Hotel & Restaurant It is a stunning restaurant located at East Legon in Accra, with an inside dining area, an outside terrace, and a rooftop lounge. This Friday they will be hosting their Night Jam & Karaoke event, an open mic event featuring great food, live music, and some fun karaoke. Bring friends along, and for the ladies the first 5 that show up get free shots to kick start their night!

Basketball fan? This event is for you. Catch the Elite Hoops Basketball Tournament this Saturday, to enjoy a string of action-packed basketball games featuring skilled local talents. It’s happening at the Atomic Basketball Court, so cop your tickets to attend.

Mr. Barrel’s Grand Opening

Amapiano & Brunch at Front/Back

Amapiano & Brunch is an electric amapiano-themed party that is held periodically in Accra. The event is curated by Culture Management Group, the creators of Afrochella - now known as Afrofuture Festival. This edition of Amapiano & Brunch will feature a performance by South African DJs PCEE and JUSTIN99, the iconic duo spotted in a viral video of them pulling off some amazing dance moves to some amapiano music.

Saxofoam Brunch Sunday at Polo Beach Club

Polo Beach Club, Ghana’s premier luxury beach resort in Accra hosts some of the best events on a regular, and this Sunday you can come through for Saxofoam Brunch Sunday. It’s a brunch event marked by live music, specifically exciting performances by Polo’s gifted saxophone players.
