The Best Amapiano Songs Right Now

Stream the top amapiano hits from, featuring Maline Aura, Jinger Stone, Sam Deep, Sfarzo Rtee, and more stars redefining the sound.

We’re almost at the halfway mark of the year, and what a ride it’s been. 2025 began with endless talk of amapiano’s supposed death, and the conversation persisted for months. We still await the post-mortem, but one thing remains undeniable: bangers continue to emerge from every corner of the piano-verse. Meanwhile, events such as Piano People In The Park, Afro Nation, and Scorpion Kings Live — alongside weekly club nights — keep selling out time and time again.

Earlier this month, Felo Le Tee appeared on the Outlawz Podcast to share his thoughts on the current state of amapiano, particularly around gatekeeping within the genre. He carefully pointed out that, given the sound’s increasingly global nature, interpretations of amapiano from outside South Africa are inevitable.

“If [people from other countries] are doing piano, let’s find a way to support. That’s why every time when I play in other countries, I don’t become too fixated [on how] we play in South Africa. I try to understand the market [...] If we continue to keep the energy of gatekeeping it, it’s only gonna be stagnant — the same people, same audience, same vibe.”

Young Stunna echoed similar sentiments by advocating for more genre-inclusive studio camps. “Am I the only one who feels like studio camp invitations and private invitations limit the sound?” he wondered.

Meanwhile, excitement for Scorpion Kings Live is mounting, and there’s even a petition out to get Samthing Soweto to perform, following his much-publicized fallout with DJ Maphorisa in 2024. Uncle Waffles has, in addition to supporting Kaytranada, also been announced as the supporting act on Asake’s upcoming 13-date tour in support of his new album, In God We Trust.

Below are the best amapiano songs right now.

Maline Aura - "Sukumemeza" (feat. DJ Maphorisa, Dj 2k, Mluusician)

Maline Aura had the country paying attention and singing along in 2025 when Mdu aka TRP's remix of hers and Drega's "Mabebuza" entered heavy rotation. Her profile has risen even further since then, and "Sukumemeza" builds on that moment without diminishing its significance. Her talent is undeniable; from songwriting to execution, she remains fully present at every step, refusing to take the easy road and instead committing to the process. It shows in the music; this joint feels transformative.

Awakened Regal, M00tion - "WEH LO!"

On their collaborative three-track EP, Ghosts In The Speakers, Awakened Regal and M00tion strip amapiano down to its barest elements, foregrounding heavy bass and percussion with minimal vocal chops that keep the groove locked in. The result is dark and brooding music designed for late nights and moody lighting, for dancefloors that are never empty.

Noxolo, Myztro, Lehleeza - "Amaxoki" (feat. Semi Tee & Amapiano Village)

"Amaxoki" feels like video game music, complete with squelching synths, cinematic build-ups, and perfectly timed beat drops. It's remarkable in the way it balances restraint with a sense of freedom in its sound design, further proof that amapiano continues to evolve into a territory that reflects the sheer range of its makers. Everyone involved delivers.

DJ Micsir, Cooks GP - "Motsamai"

DJ Micsir and Cooks GP have locked in and emerged with a seven-track EP filled with some of the finest stance and sgija on this side of amapiano. Their approach uses texture to imply emotion, moving the listener without uttering a word. The music evolves bar by bar as they add layers, building a sonic language of their own. "Motsamai" is one of the clearest examples of them getting it exactly right.

Sfarzo Rtee, Makhanj, Mkeyz, Nontokozo Mkhize - "Bawo Vula" (feat. Reed)

"Bawo Vula" shook the scene when it arrived in 2024 and became part of the backdrop to a memorable year for amapiano globally. Sfarzo Rtee has since ascended to even greater heights, notably by delivering two excellent albums in barely six months in 2025. Here, he revisits "Bawo Vula" as a transcendental medley, fleshing out its musical components for maximum impact. It strikes at the heart, pulls emotional strings, and leaves you undone in the most beautiful way before pulling you back onto the dancefloor through Reed's rendition towards the end. This is how artists become great, how movements push beyond the present moment. This is legacy work, vital in every sense.

Sam Deep, Thatohatsi, Zuma, Marvin - "Izospana"

Sam Deep is currently one of the standout figures in amapiano, still riding high from the career-defining success of 2025's "Shela," which continues to receive spins. "Izospana" is a mantra in song form, a message sent out to the universe that things will eventually work out. Thatohatsi's unmistakable tone opens the track, reminding listeners why she's truly one of one: relatable, deeply attuned to the form she works within, and gifted as a songwriter. Then comes Zuma with a kwaito-inspired flow that feels effortless and relaxed, never overexerted but impactful nonetheless. Sam Deep and Marvin shape the track's emotional arc, embedding a subtle kind of magic in its melodic layers. We might have another hit on our hands.

Jinger Stone, De Mthuda, Murumba Pitch - "Wa Pelo"

"Wa Pelo" is a declaration of love carried by the warm, unassuming voice of Jinger Stone, whose collaboration with De Mthuda and Murumba Pitch delivers on every front. There's enough room for her voice to command attention, while the production provides enough support to sustain the song's emotional current throughout. Murumba Pitch heads straight for the soul, his tone delicately balancing Jinger Stone's presence. Meanwhile, De Mthuda's run continues unchallenged as he keeps innovating within a lane he helped lay the foundation for.

EeQue, Al Xapo, Optimist Music ZA, FaroQii MusiQ - "iKhekhe" (feat. ft Shoesmeister & Dooushii)

"iKhekhe" feels like this season's answer to songs such as "Zep" and "Snokonoko," tracks engineered for peak partying and pure good times. With a lineup made up of some of the most current and forward-thinking talent in amapiano right now, EeQue, Al Xapo, Optimist Music ZA, and FaroQii MusiQ come together to manufacture consent for a life built around bangers and all-year celebration. Amapiano remains the moment, and that moment shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
