Young Fathers' Stripped-Down NPR Tiny Desk Concert

Scottish-Liberian-Nigerian trio Young Fathers have been on a lengthy tour in support of White Men Are Black Men Too, the follow-up to their Mercury Prize-winning album Dead. While stateside, band members ‘G’ Hastings, Alloysious Massaquoi and Kayus Bankole stopped by NPR to perform a stripped-down Tiny Desk Concert. On these live renditions of "Am I Not Your Boy" and "Only Child," the group rely on a sparse arrangement of vocals, light percussion and a single analog synthesizer for an uncharacteristically serene performance — a departure from the booming beats and rhymes of their live show.
