This former Silicon Valley financial analyst has taken the leap to fill in a much-needed gap in the Bay Area's food scene.

Eko Kitchen, helmed by head chef and CEO Simileoluwa Adebajo, will be landing in San Francisco on May 3. As she shares in a viral tweet, Adebajo quit her job as a financial analyst to make this dream come true. She seeks to "stay as close to home as possible," developing recipes she learned from her mother as well as her two grandmothers.

The restaurant has been fulfilling its last Uber Eats orders as they work toward opening its brick and mortar, and the menu offerings are mouth watering—from goat pepper soup, jollof and suya to ofada stew, efo-riro and agege bread topped with Nigerian-style egg sauce with mackerel.

"All I wanted to do with this concept was to share Nigerian food, music and culture with this city," she reflects in a tweet from February. "I am not the best chef in the world, but I strategically positioned myself and the first and only Nigerian food in the city of San Francisco and I'll always be proud of that achievement."
