London was one of the first cities in the world this year to celebrate Felabration, the annual tribute to the legacy of Fela Kuti timed around his October 15th birthday.

Last week, AGMP, Knitting Factory Records and Okayafrica held an all-out bash at the Electric Ballroom for a Felabration night that featured performances from Dele Sosimi Afrobeat OrchestraTemi Dollface, Breis, Bumi Thomas, Afrikan Boy, Tiggs da Author, and many more special guests.

Dele Sosimi, a longtime keyboardist for Fela Kuti‘s Egypt 80 and bandleader for Femi Kuti‘s Positive Force, and his orchestra were the house band for the night, keeping everyone moving to their afrobeat rhythms.
