Unlabelled Magazine is an emerging youth culture publication run by South African creatives who strive, they say, "to connect to an extensive multicultural audience through original editorials, thought provoking articles and an exploration of South African fashion history." Site founder Phendu Kuta recently reached out to us with the magazine's latest project, a striking photo-essay capturing the footwear choices of a diverse group of Johannesburg locals. Titled Shoe Story, the editorial sees photographer Obakeng Molepe take to the streets of Maboneng, Jeppestown and Braamfontein to shoot the sharp collection of sneakers, wingtips and casual loafers. Click through the gallery above for a preview of Shoe Story. Head to Unlabelled Magazine for the full spread, which also includes short anecdotes about the participants. For more from Unlabelled, check out Joburg-based photographer Nikki Zakkas' colorful Seeing Double editorial.
