Where to Watch the 2026 FIFA World Cup From Anywhere in the World

For the first time ever, Africa is sending 10 representatives, including first-timers Cabo Verde, to the newly increased 48-team tournament. Here’s where to watch the matches online.

People seated in a room watch a soccer match on a wall-mounted television.
Whether you’re watching from Lagos, Nairobi, Johannesburg, London, or New York, OkayAfrica has rounded up the best ways to catch every match.

The biggest FIFA World Cup in history is finally here. As excitement builds, criticism has also emerged online, with some fans, officials, and players saying U.S. immigration policies have complicated or disrupted travel plans ahead of the tournament. Despite that cloud hanging over the tournament, the focus is still firmly on football. For a little over five weeks, the best 48 teams from around the world will gather in the U.S, Mexico, and Canada for the greatest sporting showcase in the world.

The first of the 104 games is Mexico vs South Africa on June 11th, a repeat of the 2010 World Cup opening game in South Africa. If you’re around New York City, you can watch this game with us at Elsewhere. And stay back for an after-party full of South African sounds. RSVP here for a free entry.

The final game will be played on July 19th, and hopefully it will feature an African team. You can follow the journey there by repping your team in our World Cup collection

With the game broadcasting in 216 territories, chances are, whatever corner of the world you’re in, you’ll have access, and it may even be for free! You also get to watch the games if you’re traveling by air or on a cruise ship.

Africa

For the first time ever, our continent is sending 10 representatives to the tournament. Nine teams qualified directly, including first-time participants Cabo Verde. DR Congo took the longer route — the intercontinental playoffs — to seal the final spot.

In Sub-Saharan Africa, Togo-based New World TV holds the primary rights across 43 territories, with a requirement to sublicense at least one match per day for free-to-air broadcast in each territory. New World TV will broadcast all games through its pay-TV platform in 19 French-speaking countries in the region.

SuperSport (via its DStv and GOtv platforms) will broadcast all 104 games to English and Portuguese-speaking countries in the region. Azam TV also holds broadcasting rights for all 104 games in eight countries in East Africa and Southern Africa. The matches will also be available to stream on DStv Stream.

In North Africa (and the Middle East region), fans will be served by beIN Sports, with coverage in Arabic, English, and French. Streaming is also available via beIN CONNECT and TOD by beIN.

Europe

Most of Europe will air all 104 matches for free through public broadcasters, via local and satellite TV, and via streaming, thanks to the deal between the European Broadcasting Union and FIFA.

The Americas

In North America, FOX, FS1, Telemundo, and Universo will air the games in the U.S.; TelevisaUnivision and TV Azteca will air some of the games for free in Mexico with ViX streaming all 104 games. In Canada, CTV and TSN will air all 104 games.

In South America, DirecTV Latin America, Tigo Sports, ESPN, and TyC Sports will broadcast the games in most of the region. Several public stations will also air select games. In Brazil, digital sports channel CazéTV will broadcast all games on YouTube.

Asia

Outside the Middle East, where beIN Sports holds the rights, private and public broadcasters will air the matches across most of the region. China’s national broadcaster will air all 104 matches for free in the country; South Korea’s JTBC holds the rights there, and Japan’s rights are shared among NHK, Nippon TV, Fuji TV, and DAZN. Zee’s newly-launched Unite8 Sports will air the games in India.

Oceania

In Australia, SBS will broadcast all 104 for free on TV and via its app. Sky Sport and TVNZ+ will share coverage in New Zealand. Fiji’s national broadcaster, FBC, also has the rights to air all games in the Pacific Islands region.

Not on land? You can still watch

In 2025, IMG secured the rights to broadcast all games in-flight and on cruise ships through its Sport24 platform. You can watch the games on 610 aircraft and 119 cruise ships.
