Last December, London held an all-out bash in celebration of Fela Kuti and the release of the Red Hot + Felacompilation. The Felabrationfestivities featured performances from a wide-ranging roster of acts, each inspired by Fela in their own way, including the likes of  Baloji, Olugbenga (of Metronomy), Afrikan Boy, Sam Duckworth (of Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly), Shingai Shoniwa (of the Noisettes), TY, Blak Twang, ESKA, Zee Gachette (Z-Star), and plenty more. All the artists covered classic Fela tracks aided by the night’s house band Dele Sosimi Afrobeat Orchestra —led by former Egypt 80 keyboard player Dele Sosimi.
