'Insecure' Isn't Returning Until 2020 and the Internet Can't Deal

How will we cope?!

All of our burning questions about the next chapter of Issa Rae's Insecure won't be answered until next year, as HBO has confirmed that the hit show will not be returning to the network for its fourth season until 2020.

The reason being, that the show's creator and star, is currently booked and busy. "Well, Issa became a big movie star!" Casey Bloys, HBO's programming president tells Vulture. "We're not the first place to deal with this, but when you're in business with very creative and talented people, there are a lot more opportunities for people to do things. Issa, I think, partly wanted a break to come back fresh."

The actress, who can currently be seen in the comedy Little alongside Marsai Martin, is slated to appear in a number of upcoming projects, including the romantic drama The Photograph with LaKeith Stanfieldas well as American Princess. She's also currently developing a sketch comedy show, starring all black women.

According to Shadow & Act, HBO, in an effort to compete with streaming services like Netflix and Hulu, is currently in the process of expanding its programming and will become part of WarnerMedia's streaming service. These changes have affected its 2019-2020 season, also moving new seasons of shows like Westworld, starring Thandie Newton, till next year.

While we're happy our girl Issa is doing big things, but we must admit that it does hurt to have to wait another year for Insecure's return. Folks on the internet aren't taking the news too well, to say the least.
