Témé Tan's 'Champion' Is The Dose Of Positive Energy You Need

The Belgian-Congolese artist and his band head to the DRC's Amani Festival in this new music video.

Témé Tan, is the musical project of Belgian-Congolese producer Tanguy Haesevoets, who first landed on our radar last year with excellent tracks like "Améthys" and "Ça Va Pas La Tête." The artist's sound plays like an uplifting, kaleidoscopic reflection of his multicultural upbringing between Brussels and Kinshasa.

Témé Tan is now premiering his new music video for "Champion," a reverberating dose of positive energy, which sees him performing at the Democratic Republic of Congo's Amani Festivaland collaborating with Congolese musicians.

"In February, I was invited to perform in Goma, the Democratic Republic of Congo," Teme Tan writes. "The Amani Festival is the biggest music festival of central Africa, dedicated to promoting peace (Amani in Swahili), culture and entrepreneurship. It gathers people from all over the region of the African Great Lakes."

"During those 3 days, thousands of people celebrate unity far away from the conflicts which the media usually focus on. I took the opportunity to work with local musicians: Héritier Kandeke, Elikya Kakule, Ali Kubuya, Lwanzo Semivumbi and Benji Kasayi. For two weeks we got to learn about one another as we were rehearsing my songs for the coming concert."

"I can hardly express how deeply touched I was by this whole experience. Part of my roots are in Congo and I am forever linked to its culture and landscapes. Congolese people are going through a crucial transition in the history of the country. With this video I want to send them my love and support."
