Fela.net, the newly relaunched website for all things Fela Kuti, has released a new playlist curated by Ziggy Marley consisting of six of his favorite Fela songs. The list includes many of the afrobeat pioneer's career-defining records, including "Water No Get Enemy," "Lady," and the politically-charged "Zombie." Ziggy tops off his list with Fela's brilliant 1977 tune "Shuffering and Shmiling." The Jamaican musician spoke about his deep-seated connection to Fela Kuti and his music with Fela.net, “Fela is one of my biggest influences in a very spiritual sense. His music is spirit and so is Fela. Fela is an overall influence, it’s not just music it’s everything else too.” Listen to Ziggy Marley's selection below, and check out previous Fela Kuti playlists curated by Brian Eno and Rich Medina.
