The Nigerian artist shares a pensive and melodic track, accompanied by stunning music video.
Nigerian-born, DMV-based singer and songwriter Mannywellz returns with his latest single "No More."
The song is atmospheric and pensive, as the singer vows to never be hurt again in a relationship. As usual, the artist delivers a detailed blend of R&B, hip-hop and West African rhythms to create a melodic tune.
He's released a stunning visual for "No More," directed by Samson Binutu. It features striking, dream-like imagery, with the artist performing in various colorful settings, including an old-school Benz decked out in lush greenery, and in front of a vividly colored pink and blue house.
The songs is off his latest EP META, which he released back in September. The title comes from the Yoruba word for three. "I decided to challenge myself to see what I could create in 3 days," Mannywellz told OkayAfricaat the time of its release.
He also spoke about his mission to challenge cultural norms through his music. "This process affirmed that I'm really a lover of love as all the songs point back to love and I'm not ashamed to admit that. As a Nigerian man, being expressive of my emotions is not culturally expected of me, so I want to push back against that."
Before "No More," the artist featured on Wale's "Love and Loyalty" with fellow Nigerian DMV artist Wale.He won a Grammy last year, along with several other DACA artists for his contribution to the album American Dreamers: Voices of Hope, Music of Freedom.
